Tier 1 Roles – Eligible for Straight to Residency

Employers are not required to show evidence of advertising for a job check, and migrants working in these roles will be eligible to sponsor a partner on an open work visa. The workers with occupations in Tier 1 will be eligible for residence straight away after receiving a job offer from an accredited employer.

Green List Tier 2 roles – Work to Residence

Employers are not required to show evidence of advertising for a job check, and migrants working in these roles will be eligible to sponsor a partner on an open work visa. The workers with occupations in Tier 2 will be eligible for residence after completing 24 months of employment in New Zealand.
